Lot 5John Gayland - a set of mid 20th century wine glasses each decorated with three sand blasted, etched figures depicting monks, knights, religious figures, jesters and female figures, each glass engraved JGG 1959 to underside of foot, along with a similar drinking glass engraved with two hens and signed in full '6158 John Gayland' to underside of foot.
Catalogue Note: Correspondence exists regarding glass from John Gayland to St Margaret's Chapel, (the north transept of the Chapel York St John's University) and also reference to two books of sketches of designs for windows from John Gayland, circa 1988 for St Margaret's Chapel.
Lot 6Gustave Gurschner, Austrian 1872-1970, design attributed to; - an Art Nouveau electroplated table lamp, with iridescent green glass shade having applied purple trailing, probably by Palme Konig, the base with inset cabochon stone, mounted on a marble base, unsigned, lamp base 13 6/8" h, with shade 17 2/8" h.
Lot 7A WMF Art Nouveau silver plated liqueur set and tray circa 1910, comprising a replacement cut glass bottle with silver rim, hallmarked Birmingham 1910, marks rubbed, six smaller silver tumblers, the tray with cast maiden kneeling over the tray, 9 1/2" high, 9 6/8" long, WMF mark to base.
Lot 18Danish silver modernist jewellery comprising a Hans Hansen 1884-1940, 925 silver pendant on a 925 silver chain necklace, marks verso, two John L Laurintzen ft 1955-1981, sterling silver brooches, stamped marks verso and an 830 silver bracelet designed in five sections in a flower head design, stamped marks verso.
Lot 19Jakob Bengel for Fabon Fse. Paris (Fabrication Francaise), an Art Deco, machine age aqua green Galaith and gilt metal brooch, circa 1930s, signed Fabon Fse. Paris 725 Depose' to the base, 2 1/2" long, along with an enamel and white metal dragon pendant with inset blister pearl, stamped initial 'SC or SG' to the suspension ring, probably 19th century French, 2" long.
Lot 23A Martin Bros stoneware jardiniere with painted leaf design, ovoid shape, slightly shouldered with an everted rim, 7 1/2" h, 9"w at its widest point, incised Martin Bros, London and Southall to base and a Martin Bros, dated 1914 bulb pot of square section, black glaze with veining in relief to the surface, incised 'A 3-1914 Martin Bros London & Southall' to base, 3 5/8" h, 4 2/8" wide, some damages, (2).
Lot 28Eric Ravillious - designed for Wedgwood, The Boat Race bowl, circa 1938, interior depicting Piccadilly Circus at night time on race day, exterior with three successive race day boating scenes and a smaller vinaigrette of a mermaid between crossed oars below the sun, printed marks to base, 'Designed by Eric Ravillious' within a rectangle, 'Wedgwood Made in England', pattern number 'CL6263m, 12 2/8" dia.
Lot 32After Herbert Bayer for Rosenthal - a limited edition art porcelain plate of square form, the abstract scenery composed of a ball, a cone, a hollowed circle decorated in red, blue and green on a white glazed ground, all within a raised circle, signed to the reverse with Herbert Bayer facsimile signature, Rosenthal backstamp and numbers 1500/9, circa 1982, 13 5/8" x 13 6/9".
