We work on a booking system for auction collections from the auction rooms. Please CLICK HERE to book a date and time.  Collections are held on Thursday's, Friday's and Saturday's.

Buying and selling at auction should not be a complex task and here at Bourne End we endeavour to make it an enjoyable experience for all. If you are new to our Auction Rooms, we hope you will find the notes below helpful. Please note that all transactions are subject to our Terms and Conditions and these are printed at the bottom of the page.

We hold a General Home Furnishings & Collectibles auction sale every week except for the first Wednesday in the month when we hold one of our specialist auctions followed by an Antique, Fine Art & Collectibles sale . Everyone is welcome to come along to our viewing days. At the current time auctions are on line only and only staff are permitted while the auction is in progress.

Lots are sold at the hammer price (plus buyer’s premium) as permitted by the reserve. The buyer’s premium is 17.5% + VAT. (21% including VAT).

Viewing Days and Parking

Our viewing times are 9.30am–7.00pm on Tuesdays.

Personal viewing is recommended. If you are unable to attend the viewing, you may request a condition report and/or images of individual lots, this can be done by email or calling the office. Condition reports are given as a matter of opinion only and all requests must be received before 5.00pm on the day before the sale.  Condition reports will be answered on the Tuesday before the auction.

There is limited, free customer parking in the designated bays immediately outside the Auction Rooms. However, you may be asked to move your vehicle if we have vans delivering and unloading. The rest of the car park is controlled by Thames Trains and is Pay & Display. There is also a short-term Pay & Display car park behind Lloyds’ Bank, a two or three minute walk away.

A toilet is available for customer use. Please ask at the office for the key.

Our sale room is on the first floor of the building, accessible by stairs only.

For security reasons, our premises are monitored by 24-hour CCTV.

There are local shops, banks, cafes and pubs within a short walking distance of our premises.

Catalogues

All catalogues for our auctions are available to view online through our website, www.easyliveauction.com,and at the www.the-saleroom.com. The catalogue for our Antiques, Fine Art & Collectables auction and our specialist sales are published around two weeks before the auction date and auction results are instantly available on our website. The first half of the catalogue of our weekly General Home Furnishings & Collectables auction is published on the Friday prior to the auction, with the full catalogue available on the Monday afternoon.

Catalogues are available from our office on viewing days. All transactions are subject to the detailed conditions of sale.

Sale Days

Our auctions are all online and currently only members of staff are permitted into the auction rooms while the auction is taking place.

How To Bid

We are one of the only auction houses in the country that has two online bidding platforms for a weekly auction, giving you the ability to watch the sales live on the internet with a view of the auctioneer and bid if you wish.

You may bid live through www.easyliveauction.com and www.the-saleroom.com or www.bourneendauctionrooms.co.uk

Any lot purchased live online with Bourne End Auction Rooms will be subject to an additional 1.8% (1.5% + Vat)

Any lot purchased online with easyliveauction.com will be subject to an additional 3.6% (3% + Vat) or you can opt to pay a flat fee of £3 including Vat before each auction.

Any lots purchased online with saleroom.com will be subject to an additional 5.94% (4.95% +Vat) applied by the-saleroom.com.

You may bid by telephone (by prior arrangement), or by completing an absentee/commission bid form or leaving a bid via our online catalogue. Written bids must be submitted before 9.30am on the morning of the sale.

Telephone bids must be requested in writing and received by us no later than 7.00pm on the day before the sale. They are limited to lots that are estimated at £250 and over and are accepted at the discretion of the Auctioneer. We have a limited number of telephone lines and these will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Payment/ Collection

If successful, item(s) purchased must be paid for and collected before 12 noon on the Saturday following the sale.

Collection times are available by appointment only at the present time please, click HERE to book a collection time. Collection times are Wednesday, after the auction till 6.00pm, 9.00am to 5.00pm on Thursday and Friday and 9.00am to 12.00 noon on Saturday.

Items not paid for, or collected by the above deadline, could incur a storage fee of up to £3 per lot per day.

Payment can be made through the link on the invoice that will be emailed out to all purchasers after the auction, in person by debit card, credit card, or by cash. If paying by bank transfer please note that the purchaser is responsible for all third party costs incurred in paying by this method.

We do not accept American Express and regret we are no longer able to accept payment by cheque or over the telephone.

Postage & Packing

We regret that we are unable to offer an in-house postage and packing service. We will be happy to recommend a third-party carrier who would best suit your needs, these are listed on your invoice or please call the office for details.
