A late 19th/early 20th century hardwood carved walking stick, the shaft carved in relief with a climbing snake and frog with beaded eyes, amidst trailing vine and foliage, surmounted by a carved hand-form terminal, 92cm long

It is circa 1900. We are unsure if it is Chinese or Japanese, but think it is more likely to be Japanese. There is a repair to the lower portion of the stick. Apart from that, age related wear. No apparent serious damage. Please see condition report images.
